You can never fool HIM, and if you're honest enough - you realize that you can't fool yourself either. We are condemned to sin...yet sin does not condemn us. That is the grace of Jesus Christ and why he was sent in the form of man to rescue us from ourselves. That is why Jesus gave HIS life. If you understand the magnitude of this main point, you will not be able to say "that prayer" without it being significant - to you, to Jesus, to the Father, and to your eternity. Look inwards to your darkest motives and thoughts - and fight them by prayer, discipline and knowing what is good. Ask the Lord for his help - in all things. You will have to read the good book a bit to disclose more of what is good so that it becomes more clear and apparent in your life as to how to act it out for your specific strengths and weaknesses based on how HE designed you. You will also have to examine yourself daily and be just a bit better each day than you were yesterday. This is where I believe a lot of well intending Christians miss the mark. This is the MO of a genuine and contrite heart that is striving to please God. We all have different challenges with sin. Some people can avoid certain things that may be a common struggle for others with 100%(dare I say perfection), and yet fall prey to temptations or behaviors that are less common(or less severe as weighted by the scales of good and evil). Not everyone is able to successfully go cold turkey on every habit, behavior, and intracacy of whatever type of sins plague them...but it should be on your heart and mind incessantly as you do all you can to limit and eventually fully omit those things. And if HE is on your heart and mind, then those struggles will progressively be conquered. We are more than conquerers through Christ who strengthens us. No one is or will ever be perfect - not a one of us 8 billion folks or 8 billion before us. The 8 billion after us will also fail. BUT...that's why HE CAME TO SAVE US. Our part is to invite HIM in, let him dwell within us. And obey by putting in full on effort to intentionally be better - however small it may seem - each and every day. 🙏
